| Contours |
A collection of abstract and sensual shapes, inspired by natural forms - seashells, stones, land formations.
By manipulating the layer of clay, or contour, that separates the inside from the outside, I alter the enclosed
air and give each work its unique character.
I am examining the relationship between art and nature - both imitating and incorporating natural objects into the piece.
Contours was awarded an Alix de Rothschild Award for Ceramic Sculpture.
Maximum height 68 cm (27"), maximum diameter 50 cm (20").
